He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. (Micah 6:8 NIV) Have you ever stopped to think over the message of this verse? God said this is what He requires of man... 1. To act justly - to make decisions that are just, to make judgment calls. This means He wants us to judge whether things are right or wrong... but not to condemn. 2. To love mercy - to show kindness by withholding the punishment that someone who is guilty deserves to receive. 3. To walk humbly - to do things excellently and yet not becoming prideful when praised. The key to balancing these in our life is the last 3 words in the verse... WITH YOUR GOD. If we bring God into the picture of our everyday life, we will be conscious of what He will do in those very challenging situations.
