He has too much time on his hands is such a misused statement. You might see a picture of a guy who laid out 40k dominoes to tip over, or maybe 500k matchsticks that form a dollhouse and someone will say, Oh, the guy who did this has too much time on his hands. Or the same might be said about someone who says something unique, but relatively unimportant. But it takes a lot of diligence, patience, concentration, or creativity to do some of those things. If thats having too much time on your hands, you can say that of meditation, too. Or spending hours doing an abstract painting. Everything we do or create, if done properly, can help us grow in some way, no matter how trivial it may seem.
