He is born! we frequently remark on Christmas Day. We huddle around a tree and enjoy the warmth of our family and the light in our childrens eyes as they open their gifts. The smell of Grandmom’s apple pie and the glimmer of the star that rests atop the evergreen. While these moments are ones we will cherish forever, the true glory of Christmas is found in the grace we are afforded but have not earned. The beauty of our Lord’s sacrifice when he voluntarily accepted the punishment for each and everyone of our sins. A mighty Lord capable of removing himself from bondage, hardship, and malice yet not capable of turning his back on his children no matter the cost. A lord frequently portrayed on a cross tattered and torn with the suffrage we deserved. It is truly amazing that the most powerful man to walk this planet choose the most humble approach. As we enjoy Christmas this year take time to reflect on his grace. He made the ultimate sacrifice for our salvation and he did it with humility. Aspire to mirror these characteristics in your life, the humility and self sacrifice which can only lead to a better world just as his risen life gives life to us all. Merry Christmas from our family to yours. May God bless you and yours!
