He is one of those cricketers who wears many hats, and you will be surprised at how many. As a child, AB was a successful golf, rugby and tennis player; in fact he was in the National Tennis Squad of South Africa, which he gave up when he was 13 as cricket took over his life. Known for his impeccable athletic skills, AB still continues to excel in fields other than cricket. For one he is a brilliant singer and guitarist like fellow cricketer Brett Lee. AB de Villiers, has a music album to his credit. Maak Jou Drome Waar, which means Make Your Dreams Come True in English is a bilingual album by AB and South African singer-song-writer Ampie du Preez. This album was released in 2010. In 2008, the duo came up with their single “Show them who you are”, which became a motivational song for the South African’s rise to victory against Australia in 2009. AB also doubles up as the guitar player and song writer for his songs. He started playing the guitar in grade 5. He even carries his guitar on his tours regaling his team –mates with his songs. We hope, that AB continues to stay as motivated off the field as he is while playing!
