He may be known as the Hottest Hunk of Television, but looks like his career in Bollywood seems to be on a steep rise already. Sidharth Shukla, who recently made his debut with Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, has made quite a mark already with praises and opportunities galore. As the actor talks to Magnamags Alice Peter, Sidharth reveals his future plans, clears the air about marriage and more. Your debut film, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania received great feedback and now people have higher expectations from you in terms of a booming film career. What were your thoughts when you signed the film and how have they changed post-release? Firstly when I got the film, I was more than happy as I was getting a break with Dharma Productions. It was a dream come true simply because for someone whos not from the industry and getting a debut like that after being in television, always looks slightly tough. So getting something like that was obviously exciting, it still feels great! What I expected out of it was for it to do well. Being a Dharma film, they all do well. I havent really gone and watched the film with the audience as Im so caught up with my television show, so I barely get time. However, Ive heard the response has been good, hearing people talk about it and taking note of me as an actor, it just feels good. (smiles) Alia and Varun during their interviews spoke of how much of a blast you all had on the set. How is your equation with the two at present? Are you guys still in touch? When we bump into each other, yeah, but if you are talking about speaking on the phone, not much. Were all busy, doing our own thing. Ive been working round the clock for my television show, so it barely gives you the time to speak, but whenever we do, its really great. You have signed a three film deal with Dharma. Anything that you can reveal about it? There’s nothing there at the moment in terms of projects, so nothing to speak about as such. (smiles) Do you think the three film deal would stifle your chances to grow as an actor in Bollywood at a later stage? This deal isn’t about working exclusively for Dharma, I can work outside the camp as well. So I don’t think that would hamper any opportunities. With films already in the pipeline, how do you plan on balancing TV with it? Let’s see, when it happens I think it would be a better time to talk about it. We’ll keep it for it then. Is quitting TV for Bollywood on the cards? Probably when I get there. (smiles) But television made me everything that I am today. Giving up on television, means never going back to it, I don’t think I can ever do that. You recently said in an interview, “Want to get married, but there’s no girl yet.” Any progress there? (Laughs) I’m not in a hurry to get married. I’m happy and single. You also said, “No girl would want to be in a relationship with me… because I don’t have time.” (Laughs… Interrupts) Yeah, this is a fact. I shoot at Naigaon, which is placed in an area almost outside of civilization. So once you go there, you’re on the set shooting and when you come back, it’s really late. I go home and sleep, don’t party and wake up early, so which girl would want to be in a relationship with that? I guess many, right? (laughs) Which one? They’ll only be able to watch me on television, that’s it! There was news about you dating Drashti Dhami too… It was really funny! It was amusing because I just happened to meet her because we work together. I was at Jhalak Dikhla Jha because of this sting that we were supposed to do and the next thing I see is that ‘I’m dating Drashti Dhami!’ How did you guys react to it? We were laughing because it is so hilarious. We don’t even meet and she’s got a boyfriend. My life on paper seems to be more colorful, than it actually is because the way I get linked with people it’s crazy. I’ll be speaking to somebody and suddenly I’ll be linked to that person. Any actress from Bollywood that you would love to get linked with? They’re all happy with their respective people, I guess! (laughs) Do you have a bucket list for the actors, actresses or directors you’d like to work with in the future? All of them! They’re all such wonderful and beautiful actors and actresses. When you are not from the industry, you want to work with all of them, right? So, the bucket is filled up with all of them. magnamags/live-feed/Sidharth-Shukla--I%E2%80%99m-not-in-a-hurry-to-get-married-I%E2%80%99m-happy-and-single-%E2%80%93-INTERVIEW/4909?item=8212
