He played with Stephen Stills, toured with Crosby, Stills and Nash, and gave guitar lessons to Tom Petty. And then be joined the Eagles. Don Felder was born September 21, 1947 in Gainesville, Florida, an area that became a hot spot for rock musicians. He is a self-taught guitarist, but along the was was taught to play slide buitar by Duane Skydog Allman. Oh, and he wrote Hotel California. Felder was eventually fired by the Eagles (want to know why, ask Henley, Frey or Felder for 3 different versions), yet remains one fourth of the band due to contractual corporate paperwork. Yes, everytime the band tours or plays, Mr. Felder collects a check. Eventually called Fingers by his band mates, the addition of Felder to the Eagles brought a more edgy, rock sound, helping them move away from their soft country sound. He also wrote a book, Heaven and Hell: My Life in the Eagles (1974–2001). Definitely worth the read. https://youtube/watch?v=MSvSsNSuVtk
