He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value - TopicsExpress

He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward. ~ Hebrews 11:26 This is a reference to Moses giving up his cushy place as Pharoahs daughter to suffer with his own people, Gods people, the enslaved Israelites, when called by God. A reference to a man who lived thousands of years ago, but it reminds us where our focus should be today. Jesus said, Anyone who denies me before man, I will deny before my father, but how often do we remain silent when given an opportunity to tell people about Jesus. There are people today being fired for sharing Jesus, for praying at work, even for wearing Christian themed jewelry. But then there are many who remain silent, forego prayers and take off their jewelry for their treasures of Egypt. And its not always about a job or money. How often do we remain silent, are we embarrassed to pray, or put those clothes that testify to our faith in Jesus back in the drawer because well be around nonbelievers? Its not for riches that we make such choices, but for comfort, So the next time were tempted to deny Christ, lets remember the example Moses set when he gave up the life of a prince to answer Gods call.
