He says he thinks he went onto the pitch once after that. He says: My son was at the game so obviously I went on because I was concerned about him. He says they were told at some point there were fatalities. He says: We werent told what the cause was. But we knew that it wasnt people fighting or hooliganism, so, as I sat thats all we knew. There was speculation about, that people had died. He says he thinks either the referee or the police told him. He says: The place was just mayhem. Nobody really knows whats going on. So theres stories coming from every angle. He says just before 4pm a policeman came in and asked him and Mr Clough if they would make an announcement to the crowd and they said yes. He says they went to the police room and the microphone wasnt working. He says: Brian Clough then left and I went downstairs and went in, I think it was the DJs place and his microphone was working and I just made a brief statement, that thered been people injured and hurt, but please assist the police as much as you possibly can.
