He trains my hands for war, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze. You have given me the shield of your salvation, and your gentleness made me great. You gave a wide place for my steps under me, and my feet did not slip; (2 Samuel 22:35-37 ESV) Do you feel weak and unable to face the raging battle ahead? 2 Samuel 22 gives you the promise that the battle is not yours this morning. When we just step out in faith and trust the Commander who enables even a small boy to kill the giant with a sling and a stone to take control of the war raging within our own life we should have no fear, we will be victorious through His strength. You may have no idea how to face the day ahead. Thats ok, he will teach you to step into each new day with strength that is so amazing others will step back and know it is only by His grace that you are able to continue. The Buckler is our Shield of salvation. The original text was written using the word for a small shield used in battle, the type soldiers would use to deflect the darts and arrows of the enemy. That is what our Great God is doing for you this morning. He is allowing only those things that make us stronger and make us rely more fully on Him to pass by the shield He has created for us. Bad things are still going to happen to good people, but at the end of the day we learn to trust in our Saviors love even more! Never fail to consider and praise Him for the things we have been shielded from unaware! He is the Gentle Shepherd. He loves us so much and wants the very best for us. Whether you are on the spacious, steady ground this morning or on a slippery slope, scared and confused, wanting nothing but the Shepherd to reach down and scoop you up, He is waiting to hear from you today! Words of praise and words of despair, the Seeker of our soul longs to hear them all today. Lord, I love you! I praise You for the times You have reached down, scooped me up, and set my feet on solid ground! Thank You for training us for battle against unseen enemies and shielding us during the heat of battle. We give you praise for all the times the darts and arrows the enemy has thrown our way have been deflected by Your grace, unnoticed by our human eyes! What an awe inspiring God You are! We give You all honor and all glory and all praise! You are so very worthy!!!!
