Head Mounted Displays (HMDs) are all the rage... again. And yet again, most of them seem to ignore lessons learned from past about the Human Factors of such devices.... how is it supported on the head? (do you have to hand-hold that HMD?) What about Convergence and Accommodation? How well do they work after 1/2hour of use? 2hrs? 6hrs? Lots of studies have been done in past years. It pains me to see people pouring millions of $ into these with basically the same physical/optical characteristics of failures from the 90s. Sure we have lots better displays and rendering, and tracking has come a long way, but support structures? sheesh.
