Head coach Dave Smiths preview of todays massive cup tie with current current holders Hollands and Blair. Saturday 2nd November 2013 - Kent Invicta League Challenge Trophy - Hollands & Blair (home) A break from league action and an intriguing 2 legged cup tie against current league leaders Hollands and Blair. An interesting option taken by the league for their divisional cup and a new challenge for us all having never been involved in a home and away cup tie. This will be our third encounter with our visitors this season and we currently stand level with a win each with us winning 2-1 in the league and Blair winning the Kent Senior Trophy cup game 4-1 after extra time. Blair are without doubt the top side in the league and have consistently been in and around the honours over recent seasons. They are the current holders of the trophy after defeating ourselves 4-3 in last seasons final so I expect this two legged affair to be a very hard and testing encounter. Having two such tough games back to back will certainly give us a good test and show where we are as a team. Our league form has been excellent and I certainly feel we are improving as a team. Our level of consistency during the league games has been first class, the cup is a distraction from our main target of the league but I can guarantee we will be going all out over these games to try to make progress because any silver ware at the end of a season is always pleasing. Disappointingly we had no game last week but this has allowed a couple of nagging injuries to clear up. Our training sessions have been good and the players have worked hard. The squad for the game will show some changes as the need to utilise the full squad is important so as to keep everybody involved and during these two games I expect all the players to play a part at some stage.
