Head-on collision sends two to hospital Two people were taken to the hospital following a head-on collision Thursday northwest of Leavenworth, according to a report from the Sheriffs Office. 0 Updated Nov. 22, 2013 @ 11:06 pm Two people were taken to the hospital following a head-on collision Thursday northwest of Leavenworth, according to a report from the Sheriffs Office. The crash was reported at 7:15 p.m. Thursday on U.S. 73 about a half mile south of Kansas 192 Highway. Witnesses stated a northbound 2002 Chrysler Concord had crossed the center of the highway before it collided with a southbound 2013 Freightliner Pepsi van, according to the report. The Concords driver, a 54-year-old Easton woman, was unable to get out of the car. She was extricated by members of the Kickapoo Fire Department. The other driver, a 47-year-old Olathe man, suffered only minor injuries. Both drivers were transported by Leavenworth County EMS to the University of Kansas Hospital, Kansas City, Kan.
