Headed north on Atkinson St at about 20 MPH, not overdoing it for sure. Noticing all the beautiful trees split right in the middle to make way for all kinds of wires. It would be so nice if our power, phone and cable companies would all get together and bury all their ugly wires along some of our beautiful streets. Nice street lanterns would be great, closer to the ground and give us more light where it is needed. Not up in the middle of a tree that has been scarred up to make way for things we can not live without. Electricity, telephone and of course, TV, and now the Internet. 68 Degrees at 5 AM and going to get warmer You can just tell by the air quality. Cumbys had one gas pumper and 3 cars pulled in, I suppose for their cup of java @ $1 for an extra large. Now as I move along to the all way stop, cruising at 15 MPH I take notice of the price of gas at Dunkin. I give a groan and wonder if it will ever be 12 cents a gallon again in my lifetime. It was, once upon a time, before corporate America came into existence. Our trust worthy village peace officer was on duty and I was amazed that he was totally alone. Just sitting there waiting for customers to arrive. I am sure they will be along within the half hour, Made my way across our beautiful bridge and into the parking lot of the laundromat. Job accomplished. River was relatively quiet this morning and sounded so nice to the ear as the flowing over the dam was non stop, just keeps on flowing. I noticed how beautiful Rockingham St and our Village Square is with all of the ugly wires buried under the pavement. Orange lit street lanterns glowing and reflecting off the windows of Miss Bellows Falls Diner, the American Legion and so it went into the Square itself where the glowing lanterns reflected from both sides of the streets off the shop windows and makes for a wonderful sense of security. These great working lanterns continue down Bridge Street and south on Westminster Street. So nice. Really. Town Hall clock tower alerts us to the time Has a beautiful face and can be seen from near and far. Waiting with angst for the library work to be completed. Hoping that Mr. Carnegie would recognize it if he were here with us. Thanks Carnegie for building the library for us way back when. So here I am. In cyberspace that is an addiction. Have to go find a song for the day and maybe a joke. Anyway take time to smell the flowers. In order to do that we must turn off the computer or leave the smart phone inside the house. Time now for a 3rd cup of coffee. Have a great day, Make it happen. Digital hugs for everyone out there.
