Heading north along Floridas Big Bend, the next river we visited - TopicsExpress

Heading north along Floridas Big Bend, the next river we visited was the picturesque Steinhatchee. The lowest depths we found under normal low tides was 6 feet. Most of the well marked approach channel and river is much deeper, but anchorages ( page 55 and 56, TGBOA The Gulf Coast) in wide spots inside the river can shallow to 5 1/2 feet. If you can clear the 25 foot bridge farther up river, there are several good options to anchor. You can also find marina dockage if needed. The small town is a delight and there are a couple of good restaurants and a small grocery.
