Headland Preservation Group - Save Middle Head Campaign A developer wants to build a private residential aged care facility in national parkland on Middle Head. This would breach the letter and intent of the commonwealths Sydney harbour Federation Trust Act and the EPBC Act which were set up to preserve heritage and the environment and maximise public access to this parkland. Prime Minister John Howard promised that this land would be returned not just to the people of Sydney, not just to the people of the suburbs around Sydney, but to all the people of Australia. A private residential aged care facility would destroy heritage buildings, alienate the Australian Public from this site and damage the natural environment. It would also set a dangerous precedent, threatening all National Parkland and Heritage sites throughout Australia. The Community asks you to reject the proposed aged care facility and similar proposals, and to protect public parkland and heritage sites for all Australian now and in the future. Refer: hpg.org.au
