During launch, if an affiliate sends a visitor and that visitor buys - they DO get the commission. Even if that visitor has been hardcoded with someone elses cookie. Because during launch (for the actual sale), last cookie wins. However, at the same time that the affiliates mail out, the Vendor also mails the prelaunch list. If a customer bought by clicking on a link in the Vendors email, the affiliate who was hardcoded gets the sale. So those who did mail during prelaunch get extra chances to make the sale. In effect, the Vendor is mailing for them. What this accomplishes is: During prelaunch affiliates are encouraged to mail early (because the first cookie gets hardcoded). This is an excellent way to build a list and warm your prospects. During launch affiliates are encouraged to offer bonuses and mail more than once, so that they get as many chances as possible to refer the sale. Its worth noting that this is not database coding and guaranteed lifetime tracking... but its the first time that this has been something that you could easily set up for yourself. Now, odds are, youve seen vendors doing this on JvZoo, but no one wanted to share how it was done... And the reason is simple - it was technical, messy, and not standardized.
