Healing from the trauma of the past, is an on-going process. It does not happen overnight and being healed does not mean that damage was never done. Healing, means that the wound is no longer open and the damage no longer controls our lives... Every person has a choice. We can either keep wallowing in self-pity or we can make the choice to accept and receive the healing that has been provided for us by the Lord. If we really want to be healed from the pain of our past, we must cast our cares upon THE LORD (1 Peter 5:7) and accept the Joy that the Lord offers. No matter what is going on, no matter what things look like, we have to make that choice everyday of our lives or we could fall into depression or hopelessness. JESUS is anointed with the oil of gladness. (Hebrews 1:8-9, Psalm 45:7) If we let him in, he can fill us with joy, even in the midst of the storms of life. But we have to CHOOSE to stay in that mindset because things wont always go right in life. Everyday wont be perfect. The people in our lives wont always live up to our expectations. But those who are IN CHRIST, do at least know that we have hope in Christ and we have help in Christ. He will help us through difficult times, if we let him in and keep trusting and believing on him, day after day...
