Health Care Our ECHS scheme has been there for a few years now and has been a successful scheme for the Veterans. But the society needs something more than what is limited to the Veterans & their family members. People who are not entitled to such Pro-Bono facilities definitely need organizations or establishments who would give them health care in their homes, at costs which should be at a fraction of what the private sector hospitals are charging. The people are looking at enterprises who would deliver medicines at home at the most comparable prices in the market. Elders need not be admitted to the hospitals, if such organisations are able to create all ICU like facilities at the homes of the needy elders. The medical equipment must be available for rent, thus helping save tremendous hospital costs to the patients. The caregivers in the form of Doctors, Nurses and other paramedical staff, including the Physio therapists should also be made available. The most important requirement, however, is that all such facilities must become available on the internet. Quite like the CSD proposal,all health care facilities should be available at the click of a button. The company,not only must maintain all medical records digitally, but should also provide medicines at much cheaper rates,as they will be able to procure in bulk from the actual formulators. We do have many small scale enterprises who provide these services in a piecemeal basis, but at very high rates. These are, as if, catering only to the richer class of the citizenry. Hospitals have become five star hotels and seven star costly. The Government hospitals are so few and leave much to be desired.The society needs health care services-at home-at rates which are within the reach of everyone. In the digital world of today, all such services need to overcome the rural/urban divide so as to be available to everyone across the society, simply as an app on a smart phone. We wish some such thing happens soon, so that the people are able to avail of health care services, at home, at affordable prices, in a very organised and professional manner.
