Health Educators Needed!!!... The California Health Collaborative is recruiting four full time and one half time Health Educators for the newly funded Covered California Outreach and Education Program. These positions will be housed in Oakland, Fresno, Los Angeles and San Diego Counties. SUMMARY Under general direction of the Covered California Project Director, supports the efforts of the Director in planning, implementing and evaluating the activities of the funded program. Positions are available for the following areas: Los Angeles County, San Diego County, San Joaquin Valley, and the Bay Area. ESSENTIAL DUTIES 1. Consults with the Project Director relative to planning, policy and program direction. 2. Provides Covered California education and outreach to federal subsidy-eligible women throughout assigned region in a strategic and planned manner. 3. Provides technical assistance to California Health Collaborative’s CDP:EWC collaborative contacts and healthcare provider networks in assigned area to educate federal subsidy-eligible women on the Covered California program. 4. Coordinates and assumes responsibilities for the successful operation of Covered California Outreach and Education Program including outreach and delivery of services in assigned area. 5. Monitors submission of “Leads” generated by outreach and education activities to the Covered California state program. 6. Provides training, coordination and supervision of Community Health Workers to assist with outreach and education efforts in assigned area. 7. Enters all program related data into Covered California database on a weekly basis, at a minimum, as required by Covered California contractual language. 8. Plans and manages logistics for all program meetings and trainings in assigned area, including site selection, room set-up, and audio-visual equipment. 9. Provides support in the development of proposals, applications, and/or requests for new or continued funding. 10. Represents the California Health Collaborative and Covered California Outreach and Education Program in meetings with community-based organizations, healthcare providers, stakeholder organizations, and other key partners. 11. Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Education and experience requirements are: a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Public Administration, Social Work, or a related field and a minimum of three years’ experience working in community outreach and coordination, OR a combination of work experience and education, indicating an ability to fulfill the requirements of the position. Two years related experience might be substituted for each additional year of college credit. A valid California Driver’s License and proof of insurance is required. Bilingual a plus.
