Health Money Enabling This is on my mind this morning. Thought I - TopicsExpress

Health Money Enabling This is on my mind this morning. Thought I might share a few things I’ve learned. When people complain of their aches and pains, in the back of my mind I’m usually thinking, oh, just don’t think about them. We ALL have aches and pains. Some of us barely pay attention to them. Others make a lifestyle out of obsessing over them and complaining about them. But yesterday morning when I stepped out of bed, oh my god, a pain shot up through my foot that felt like a severe electrical shock, and I thought, if THIS is the kind of pain people are talkin’ about, then I have a whole new understanding of pain. I kept trying to figure out just what in the world is going on here. I think I got to the bottom of it. I am usually extremely active from sun up until around 10pm. Since October though, I have been enjoying my recliner way too much. The day before that extreme pain attack I had curled up under a pile of blankets at 5:30pm and stayed there. My body is saying loud and clear to me, GET MOVING!!! If I start down that path of laziness and lethargy I may not be ABLE to get back to where I was. So thank you my foot for sending me that painful but clear message. It still hurts but I’m keepin’ movin’. The thing I was going to say about money is this. A day or two before Jesus was to be crucified a woman came to him with expensive oil to rub on his feet. The people in those days were conscious about how wonderful it feels and how good it is for your body and soul, to have your feet rubbed. Some of the disciples especially Judas Iscariot were raising cane over that expensive oil used for Jesus’ feet. They said that money could have been used for the poor. Jesus said, the poor you will always have with you. I think he was speaking to the fact that money and wealth is more than material but is connected to the spiritual. I know that if the government takes everything I have worked for and gives it to “the poor”. In a few months I will be broke and the poor will be just as poor. As for the enabling, I am seeing on so many fronts how our government is enabling people to make bad choices, to take the easy way out, to take from the government even though it is leading them to become slaves to it. Many people can no longer think for themselves or take care of themselves because of generations now of wrongful government dependency. That’s partially what happened in New Orleans when the hurricane hit. Many people are so accustomed to relying on the government for everything that they couldn’t get themselves out of their homes and to safety unless someone physically forced them or took them by the hand and lead them. On some levels the government is encouraging and ENABLING people to be like poor weak helpless ignorant sheep.
