Health Tip of the week... The 10 Commandments of Healthy Eating: 1) Stop eating trans-fats (found in biscuits, crackers, cakes, muffins, pies, pizza dough, hamburger buns, donughts, french fries and chicken nuggets - to name a few). They raise LDL bad cholesterol and actually lower HDL good cholesterol. 2) Stop eating modified sugars (high fructose corn syrup, sugar substitutes), modified sugars stimulate appetite. 3) Eat smaller portions - they will still give you more than enough energy to get to your next meal time! 4) Include some protein in every meal and snack, unless its a piece of fruit! 5) Find healthy foods that you actually like. 6) Aim for 5-9 fruits and/or vegetables per day. 7) Eat more plants, especially leaves. 8) Eat more foods with omega-3 fatty acids (found in fish and walnuts). 9) SLOW DOWN – take more time to eat...don’t eat unless you are sitting down! 10) Lose the fizzy drinks and drink more water Its as easy as that !!!
