Health Update - # 29 – September 22, 2014 Psalm 121: 1-4 I will lift up my eyes to the hills From whence shall my help come? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to slip or to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. Hello Friends, Here we are at the start of 553 (5 weeks, 5 days, 3 pm) and life is awesome! Why do you ask? Well, right before the first week of radiation, my salivary glands returned back to normal. It was a beautiful thing having some time of normalcy once again. Here I thought I was starting from a deficit and then surprise I was brought back to a place of normality! Now I am looking for preservation of the glands from a new and higher starting point; how great is that? We all know that God can exceed our expectations and that was one of many miracles done for me. As I go into week number 2, I am using the tips and tricks that so many have shared with me. For being in what I thought was going to be an unsettling and scary time of my life, I have a great sense of calm and joy. The strength of your support and prayers are carrying me through – THANK YOU! Also, and most importantly, an additional thank you to the Lord for how He has answered my prayers for strength, courage, and physical preservation so far. They say that towards the end of this week is when I will probably start the side effects. I feel a bit like I am participating in the Bible story Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego as they went into the fiery furnace. We all know that God had a hand of protection on them and Jesus was in the furnace with them to show they were not alone. In a way, same thing with me, I face the fiery beams of radiation daily. Jesus is with me and is watching over me. I have to do my part in the process and can confidently know that He is doing his part too!
