Health Update #32 – October 10, 2014 Psalm 103:1-“Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name!” Hello Friends, Today is “High Five Friday” as I mark the closing of week 353 and look forward with much anticipation to the start of week 253!! Yahoo! I attached a picture of two of the viewing screens the technicians use while I am undergoing radiation. The screenshots to the right are the original shots of me before the start of the radiation process. Then each day when I go in for the treatment, they match up my daily pictures with the original pictures – they overlap the images. This insures that as my body changes (swelling) they are still hitting the specific targeted sites. It is amazing how during the radiation process the machine has shields that come out to specifically cover the areas, such as my saliva glands, which need preservation! They also have measured out not only how much radiation the targeted areas receive, but also how much the surrounding areas receive so they can anticipate the side effects. We all know though that God has the decision over the final outcome. Thanks again everyone for your love and support! Take Care, Sheryl
