Health care saga for my dad...Ortho nurse calls mom today. We dont need to keep the appointment for tomorrow. Wait for the scheduler to call for surgery date. I told mom to call her back, let them know his Lupus is flared and on Predisone by Dr. Poole. (She talks to 5 different people at ortho because they dont want you to talk to the nurse, and of course she is gone to lunch.) There must be pre-op tests? Sure, they want the attending physician to clear him now. No one has called to schedule the surgery either. Well see if the next consult is still on Monday, 24.... So now another week goes by. The good news is his pain is down from #11 to a #7 today. Mom is all over the medication sequencing. It has to be more than frustrating to have people screwing with your health for almost 3 weeks now.... Emergency medicine is the best where we find a problem and try to fix it!
