Health-washing: (this is my personal definition) An effort made by food manufacturers to create a positive, nutritionally beneficial perception of a product, based upon either a specific nutritive value, or simply based upon dietary dogmas held about nutrients or qualities of the product itself. This term is featured prominently in my Greek (and other) yogurt blog post thats coming out soon. This post has been a doozy to work on, so I apologize for the delay. Leave it to me to find 15 more things to talk about or ways to make the information easier for yall to (ahem) *digest* once the post goes live. In other words, expect a 1- or 2-page guide to yogurt that details as much as I possibly can before I make myself insane on which to choose and the standards against which Im measuring them. And, Im going to rank them for you. Youre welcome. Also... thanks for all your replies to my brand question earlier. I think a lot of you will be left with a sour taste in your mouths (see what I did there?) after seeing my post, but alas, I wont leave you without a probiotic fix. Im naming names and calling out the best of the best alongside the worst of the pitiful worst. In other words, I will definitely be telling you which brands I recommend, and many of them are nationally available. So, raise a spoon to that!
