Healthcare Assistants needed in #Barry New Directions are currently recruiting for experienced Healthcare Assistants to work on a flexible basis at a picturesque nursing home based in the Vale of Glamorgan. The nursing home is a listed building and offers excellent long and short term nursing, respite and residential care to 59 residents in total. The home is an integral part of the community and offers a high quality care service to the elderly. Situated on a bus route and close to local amenities the home is easily accessible and offers a stable, welcoming environment for staff to work in. Car parking is also available on site. New Directions are seeking staff to work a variety of shifts to include nights, days and weekends and sometimes at short notice. We require staff with 6 months paid experience in an elderly care setting or 12 months voluntary. Employed as a care assistant you are an integral part of the staff team so you must have good communication skills, be able to take direction, act on intuitive and be a reliable, responsible individual. Main duties include: All aspects of personal care Ensure care plans are kept up to date Safe manual handling of residents Engaging residents in activities Work within the staff team and take direction when required Ensure well-being of residents at all times Interact with relatives, external bodies as required Operate within CSSIW guidelines at all times
