Hear ye, St Joe Countianites! The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather message, which I will summarize... 1) Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas. 2) Winter storm warning in effect from 1 PM this afternoon (11/17 - sorry for the delay in posting) until tomorrow (11/18) 7 PM - Whole county affected. 3) Accumulations of 6 to 10 inches EXPECTED but 12 to 15 inches are POSSIBLE. Either way, lots of snow. Make a snowman, dont complain. Its Michigan... 3) Wind, my friends...lots of wind. West winds, mostly, 15 to 25 MPH regularly with gusts at 30 MPH. It is brutal. Stay inside if you can, make sure your vehicles have plenty of gas in them if you go out, and BRING YOUR PETS INSIDE! 4) Roads ALREADY are and WILL BECOME MORE snow covered and slippery! Weve had slide offs and more than one vehicle on its side already tonight...and were only 8 hours into this warning. You may be asking yourself, what does this mean for me? What should I do? Check on your friends and family. Be conscious of elderly neighbors. Wear extra layers. Bring your pets inside. Eat warm soup. Sincerely, Your Friendly and Optimistic Winter Dispatcher
