Heard a quote that pierces the heart. Christians are culpably - TopicsExpress

Heard a quote that pierces the heart. Christians are culpably unaware of the spiritual forces operating around them. As I meditated on why this simple phrase shouted at my spirit I thought of many discussions and requests from recent encounters. We often pray for our comfort in the world instead of victory over the world even when the discomfort is discipline coming from the Father. We often pray for God to give us the very idols which entrap us and lead us away from Him. We often pray for others to change instead of humbling ourselves before them and God by becoming servants to them. We often pray for judgement to be brought on our enemies when we should be offering forgiveness to them so we ourselves may be forgiven. We often curse our political leaders, employers, and authorities, handing them further into the power of the enemy instead of praying for their protection and deliverance from the enemy. We often pray for God to move miraculously in areas which He fully equipped us to do it by faith in His power already given to us. We ask with wrong motives, often based on ignorance, we ask for forgiveness without forgiving, we ask without being in agreement with other saints, we ask without discernment, we ask without including Christ and our identity in Him as the source of provision. God doesnt answer prayers when we are asking Him to oppose His very nature and conditions that He set forth and many are actually acting the very way the enemy wants us to.
