Heard a story a while back and wrote this. £296? He was just 54 but he was lying there on the floor, bleeding to death . Nobody noticed as he retreated in protest from a man who had no regret. He was just 54 and that morning at his door he lovingly kissed his wife, Now he lay in pain from the hands of the insane fighting for his life. For 296 pounds he was beaten on the ground while customers studied the next race, Crumbled in a mound, his innocent hands bound, colour draining from his face. Is that cost of a familys loss? Every night they will turn and toss and what did he get? 296 pounds? He died there, lying on the ground, betting slips scattered.. The phone call came and their lives will forever remain, completely shattered .. Two hundred and ninety six pounds ?
