Heard some really sad news yesterday. One of the guys my son worked with called and left him a message. He had retired in October and my don helped he and his wife move to Pahrump, NV. They have no kids but their little 10lb dog. My son said the dog was as cute as could be. Well on Christmas Day his friends wife took the dog for a walk. They didnt get 30 ft outside the door when a dog from across the street saw them and attacked. The took their dog to the vet who stabilized him and then they drove to Vegas where another vet was better to deal with the dogs injuries. Unfortunately their dog died during the surgery as the damage was too severe. I am not an advocate for putting any animal down but the pit bull that attacked this little guy and his owner fits that classification. Come to find out this dog had gone after them previously. When the owner of said dangerous dog was approached he just shrugged his shoulders. Total prick. My son tried to call his friend but got his voicemail. He left a message but I can imagine how they must feel. I hope there is recourse for them via a leash law and that they can file a complaint with the local animal services and local police department. Once a dog gets a taste for blood, it needs to either be put down by a vet or by someone who is carrying something else besides a leash. Jackass irresponsible dog owners.
