Heard this beautiful story today: Misfit The young teacher - TopicsExpress

Heard this beautiful story today: Misfit The young teacher surveyed her class; young minds, 20 of them, each of them about eight years. She said loudly, “The color of sky is blue”, as she went about her lecture in explaining the various colors. She made the class repeat the same line many times over. And the young ones, as is usual, with them, enthusiastically went about repeating at the top of their voices. Then she gave them homework, to draw a blue sky. Next day, the kids proudly showed the teacher the homework. As is the norm some kids had done their homework, while for some, the parents had done it. It was perfect as each one of them had painted the sky blue, with some variations of shades. And the teacher was smiling, as is expected of the teacher when her students show that they have grasped her teachings. Until, Chintu got his sketch book. She was shocked to see. Chintu was standing facing her, with all the innocence of a young boy, proud that he had completed his homework. But the teacher screamed at him. “What did I teach you yesterday?” The boy was confused, speechless. She addressed the class, “What color is the sky?” “Blue” the class responded in unison. She turned to Chintu, “Why did you paint it black?” With all his innocence, Chintu answered, “It was black when I did the homework.” “When did you do the homework?” “After dinner.” The teacher was furious for this disobedience, and she asked him to go and re do the homework and get her the correct drawing. Next day, his sky was orange. The teacher went red with anger. She asked him. “I went home and straight away did the homework. The sun had just set.” He answered. That term, Chintu failed and eventually he was removed from the school due to his “inability” to grasp basic concepts. Over a period of time, ironically, Chintu became a great scientist, and on his big day, he invited his old school teacher to come and hand him the Youngest Scientist Award to him. The name of the scientist is irrelevant, for this story is not about that scientist. This story is dedicated to all the other young minds who believed that the sky is blue, just because their teacher told them so. This story is dedicated to all the not-so-young minds who believe what is told to them. For they fit into the class/society.
