Heard today that a talented young footballer from the countryside, who was recommended to come and trial for the our Academy because he was so good, wont be coming afterall. His parents arent keen to see their son follow his dream of becoming a professional footballer and perhaps dont fully understand that a place in the Academy not only means he will play and be coached in a professional way, but he will receive a free education at a private school as well as free accommodation, food and clothing for the duration of what is effectively an Academy scholarship. Of course, there is no guarantee that he will be the next Messi, but its still a tough decision for the talented youngster. Any opinions out there in Facebook-land?
