Heart broken about the talented, gifted, wise, humble and ever gracious Robin Williams. One of my missions on the planet is to help highly sensitive, creative people find their place in the world - and learn to maneuver through a culture that can be hard on them. Sensitivity gets a bad rap in our culture - seeing it as week - where it actually takes great strength to be and remain sensitive. In indigenous cultures sensitivity was highly prized and honored for the gifts it brings. Much of our dysfunctional relationship with nature and each other has to do with how we have been insensitive. The fact that many people even fear reaching out to share their emotional pain is a sign that our culture stigmatizes sensitivity - may Robins death be another wake up call for us to listen deeply to our own hearts and those we love and care about - and try to create a culture of tolerance, openness and sensitivity to our own pain and those around us - which leads to deep, lasting, genuine and authentic connection. Love you Robin and will miss how you made me cry and laugh with such ease!! Now, as others have said - go make God laugh! :)
