Heart families and other medically fragile families, our Make-a-Wish Middle TN volunteers asked us to help find qualifying children. They are looking for more opportunities to grant wishes, and they are always looking for more donors to the cause, as well. Only the parents/care-givers and/or medical providers of the child may nominate him/her for a wish. The primary doctor/specialist must approve the wish. At Make-A-Wish® Middle Tennessee, we believe wishes are more than just a nice thing. A wish experience can be a game-changer for a child with a life-threatening medical condition. These children are referred to Make-A-Wish during what is perhaps one of the most frightening times in their lives. It’s a time when playing, learning and laughing are quickly replaced with uncertainty, hospital visits and medical treatments. Each wish serves as a new beginning for the wish kid and family to resume life on their own terms. Life gets better when a wish comes true. Investing in wish granting is investing in an event that will positively alter the course of a wish child’s life.
