Heart wrenching story of a poor mother and the kind gesture of a cop, several states away, who turned her life around: I bought diapers and cleaning supplies out of my own pocket to keep CPS from siezing four children to a struggling single mother who had just been left by her husband and lost her job in the same week. She had no family or friends in the area because she was from NY and we are in the south. She had no money for the laundrymat and said she was trying to wash the childrens clothes in the bath tub but had no detergent or soap of any kind. It was heartwrenching because you could tell she was a good mother but she was just in a bad place. When she got on her feet, she sent a letter to my agency trying to find me to say thank you and wanted to tell me that she got a new job and was able to care for her children with no assistance. I am glad it was not on camera because people think we only do good for the publicity. I also replaced stolen Christmas presents one year. I have purchased meals for hungry homeless people. Never on cam. We need more good stories
