The UK stated that it will no longer support rescue missions sent out to sea to save those fleeing for their lives from war-ridden countries like Syria, Iraq and Gaza. As Baroness Anelay said We do not support planned search and rescue operations in the Meditteranean. We believe they create an unintended pull factor encouraging more migrants to attempt the dangerous sea crossing. This is an absolute myth. People will not stop fleeing for their lives- all this means is that more people will die out at sea. People fleeing atrocities will not stop coming if we stop throwing them life-rings; boarding a rickety boat in Libya will remain a seemingly rational decision if youre running for your life and your country is in flames... Just look how many Syrian refugees the UK has taken in. Only 90!! Whilst other countries have taken in thousands. Just look at the comments on the video... Despicable. All because of this scaremongering over immigration. We have lost our humanity.
