Heat 14 Im an absolute nervous wreck but Im thinking.... Dont show it, dont show it.... How must Max be feeling. I look at him, laser like focus. Hell be alright but I couldnt help thinking that this was massive pressure for him, 18. I thought it was going to be Derek that would maybe go out earlier in the night in 14 and bring it home. It was written in the stars surely. He said before that this was his last meeting. It was Foxy, he had been sitting on his bike pretty much the whole time during 13, getting himself focussed. I felt that the meeting down in Somerset was the best Ive seen him ride, any track. He deserved more that the 2 or 3 he got. Anyway, Aspgren made the gate, Max and Foxy follow.... Thats alright, perfect I thought. A 5-1 it is. I genuinely had no doubt at all that the boys would do it. Max and Foxy came back in David sorted the stand etc etc. Aaron was absolutely devastated... Thats a huge point mate, a f***ing enormous point. I said to him. He always feels he should have done more but that point.... THAT POINT!!! I went back to see Max, his helmet was off by now and he looked gutted too. I said the same to him.
