Heather asked, Id like suggestions for computer games for small kids. I currently have a first grader, kindergardener, and pre-schooler. All three have loved using the online kids program ABCMouse. What I love about it is that it covers so much. They can choose what they like, there are reading games, puzzles, coloring, math, games to encourage using the mouse well, songs, stories as well as a zoo with animated animals, pets they can take care of, a fish tank they are in charge of and more and they all love it. There are two problems: 1. Our internet connection is usually not very reliable because of where we live and often it stops before their computer time is over. 2. My first grader is still enjoying it, but is just about ready to move on to something more on her level. My goal for their computer time is that they have fun and the activities reinforce some of the learning we already do during school time. Have any of you found a game/CD-ROM that your kids just love that covers a lot of stuff? I use this as a reward and we dont consider this school time. They get half an hour to an hour depending on their attention spans once a week (and please, no comments about little kids and screen time, thank you). Also, we dont have a tablet for the learning apps, just a plain old desk computer.
