Heather has been asking me to put up this photo of my beautiful Rupert aka Coonhaven Jack Be Nimble, with my daughter holding him. It was taken by a photographer from our Herald Sun Newspaper as part of a promotion for the 2012 ACF National Show in Melbourne. My daughter held Rupert in a fairly old fashioned show hold meant to emphasise a Maine Coons size. Rupert was not quite 3yrs old at the time and weighed around 8kg. He is a huge boy and was in perfect show condition and weight for an entire boy. I seriously believe that many of these huge cats shown on the Internet are either an estimated weight (judges regularly declare Rupert must be at least 10kg...) or if truly that weight must be carrying a little extra ;-) . Rupert is still a nice lean boy at 4.5yrs and now is neutered.
