Heaven has gained another Angel today, and our guess is that there is gonna be a mass pile up at the Bridge while many wait to greet her. Karyn Ringhaver, a long time Volunteer of HCAS and a great advocate for shelter animals passed away this morning after a 2 year illness. Because of her kindness and dedication to the cause of the shelter population, Jagger Park exists. The Investigation Dogs of HCAS can feel the sun on their backs and grass on their feet, off leash, for short times during the day while they wait for their court cases come to trial thanks to the kindness of this wonderful woman.( Prior to Jagger Park, those animals stayed in their kennels for anywhere from weeks to months). Jaggers Dream Fund” was formed... a fund that Karyn started, to assist with medical care and or needs of HCAS shelter pets. It has provided many shelter animals an opportunity to get healthy and have a chance to live on. Perhaps the least known, or noticed, act of Karyns love, was In the back of the HCAS building. Lining the wall of the euthanasia room, there were beautiful flower bushes and angel statues. Karyn’s small act of kindness to honor those who didnt make it out. So many wonderful things this woman has done for those without a voice. And, she did them all to honor her HEART dog, Jagger whom she lost in 2007 to bladder cancer. Rest well Karyn.
