Heavenly Father, Not all of the decisions I have made through the years were correct and the outcomes usually ended up in chaos. I led my family on numerous adventures and I am amazed at the support my wife has been to me through them all. While my intentions were good, my zeal was misguided. As I reflect back over the years, during those challenging escapades there have been many people You have brought into my life at just the right time. Some of the friendships have lasted only a short time while others have endured for decades. I still have an adventurous attitude about life but I am much less presumptuous than I used to be. Now, instead of rashly trying to make something happen, You are faithfully bringing new challenges into my life in many unique ways. The difference is that when I know that You are initiating the activity, the results may still have an appearance of mayhem, but I can embrace the circumstances with Your peace presiding in my heart instead of the former confusion and frustration. Philippians 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Colossians 3:15 “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.”
