Heavenly Father, When I communicate with You and other people, I use words to express what I am thinking and feeling. However, there is a way that You converse with me that goes beyond words, emotions and intellect. When I meditate in Scripture, the passage that I am contemplating is feeding the newly formed person that lives in me which has been created by You so that I can commune with You, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Sometimes, as I read, I don’t have an intellectual understanding of what I am considering, yet deep inside of me I sense an awareness of Your presence that goes beyond anything I can say or express in words. Somehow, there is a knowledge about You that develops out of simply being still and it produces an assurance that everything is going to be well, even when outwardly I may be observing all kinds of chaos around me. The peace that I experience goes beyond anything I can understand and yet I know it is more real than anything I can say with words. For this fellowship You provide for me, I give You all of the praise and glory because it is more precious to me than anything else in the whole world. Romans 8:26-27 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will.” Philippians 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
