Heavenly Father, protector of all, bless all those for whom this day is going to be sad and difficult one: patients in hospitals waiting to undergo an operation or hooked onto a life-saving machine and in critical condition; people who have to take important decisions that will affect their own well-being and happiness and that of others; student who have to appear for examinations; people who will be travelling by air, by sea or by roads; people who are leaving their homes today for the first time to go to strange and new places. Protect those for whom today is going to be specially hard, temptations specially strong and dealings with people trying and impossible. Bless all such people and all of us so that we may be strengthened and guided to come to the end of this day with no serious mistakes and no regrets I ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
