Typhoon Jose Headed for Japan But Luzon Fishermen Warned vs Strong Waves August 5, 2014 12:04pm A weakened Typhoon Jose (Halong) is still headed for Southern Japan Tuesday noon, but state weather agency PAGASA continued to advise fishermen against going out to the seaboards of Luzon. PAGASA, in its 11 a.m. advisory, also said monsoon rain will continue to fall over Ilocos and Central Luzon. Typhoon Jose will not affect any part of the country. However, the southwest monsoon will continue to bring rain over Ilocos region and Central Luzon while Metro Manila, Calabarzon and Mimaropa will have occasional rain, it said. It said Jose is forecast to move north-northeast at 15 kph and may be 860 km east-northeast of Basco, Batanes by Wednesday morning. By Thursday morning, Jose is expected to be 1,090 km northeast of Basco, Batanes or outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
