Heavy rain & Thunder-Storms could be moving across the mid metro - TopicsExpress

Heavy rain & Thunder-Storms could be moving across the mid metro area tomorrow night around midnight. This will be in response to a strong trough of low pressure in the upper atmosphere coming in from the southwest; a strong inflow of warm and moist Gulf air from the south and a strong cold front approaching from the west. All these factors coming together could set off a rather dramatic round of thunderstorms over north and parts of central Georgia Wednesday night and into Thursday morning. Computer models tell us that one to two inch rain amounts may be fairly common across our area come Thursday morning. After the front moves through, sharply cooler temperatures will move in, dropping lows into the 40s and 50s and highs in the 60s and 70s for a while.
