Heavy rain has forced the closure of roads in Connemara. The Inagh Valley road has been flooded and is impassable. The N59 at Kylemore Bridge is also impassable. Gardaí are advising motorists to take extra care as there is excess surface water in many locations. There’s also a flood warning for Galway city due to high tides. The critical times are 4.20 this afternoon, 4.45 tomorrow morning and 5 o’clock tomorrow evening. The areas particularly at risk are the Prom in Salthill, Grattan Road and the Spanish Arch.
