Hebrews 10:14 says: For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy. Max Lucado says: God doesn’t improve; he perfects. He doesn’t enhance; he completes. When it comes to our position before God, we are perfect. When he sees each of us, he sees one who has been made perfect through the One who is perfect —Jesus Christ. Yes, we are not yet all we will be, but God the Father is prepared to look upon us through the filter of his perfect Son, as perfect, as overcomers, as people he considered worthy of sending his Son to lay his life down for, by his grace and in his unfathomable love - people whom he considers worthy to carry his presence on earth. May we dare to believe this about the Lord and about ourselves today, despite perhaps circumstances that might dictate that we believe to the contrary. And may we not just generically consider this at some macro theological level, but, as we were encouraged last week, to remember, this God is your God - he says this about you, a child of the King, who shares his spiritual DNA, who, through Christ, he has made, and is making, perfect. Allow it to transform the way you think today.
