Hebrews (11:6) 6 And without faith it is impossible to please him, - TopicsExpress

Hebrews (11:6) 6 And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. Hebrews (11:6) ESV So I have been teaching and studying about faith and in order to have faith you have to ponder God’s existence. Now don’t get me wrong I don’t struggle with this, there is no doubt in my mind and way too much proof, but for the new Christian and in order to teach, one still must be ready for such questions. Now there is no other chapter that I am aware of that teaches on faith more than Hebrews 11 it is actually the genealogy of faith. The word faith is mentioned 24 times in this chapter alone more than any other. So the lesson that was taught last night was on defending ones faith and struggling with friends that don’t believe and how ones faith will be tested, it’s a lot to unpack so like most things we start one step or bite at a time. Let’s talk about the 5 senses; we have touch, feel, sight, sound, and taste, God has provided us with these and given most of us instruments in which to utilize these senses. But I heard an argument to the contrary and that was that he had given us more than 5 and we have all heard of the sixth sense and I believe that sixth sense should be called faith however God did not give us a visible instrument to utilize this tool unless you count Christ and the bible. If we believe in the existence of God then we need to learn how to exercise this instrument called faith and much like the other five sense the sixth will become second nature. Go back and read verses (1-3) some translation will use the word substance and some assurance and sight to describe things hoped for, we talking about all six senses here not just the natural visible five. If we change and teach our children that there are six senses instead of five then maybe in a generation or two faith in God will become second nature and God will take his rightful place as the head and not the tail of those senses, FAITH. Today’s prayer: Heavenly Father we thank you for the gift of these senses, but once again father we have to ask for forgiveness because many of us have once again exercised that which was created more than the creator as there are more people in the gym than there is in thy house. Help us to exercise our faith that sixth sense or should I say that first sense. We pray for those that hold the body in a higher esteem than you for without you the other senses would not exist. We pray for the hungry, the sick, and the lame. We ask that you touch, heal, guide and restore by thy will and in Jesus name. Amen Today’s challenge: Is to learn and teach our children and ourselves to exercise our faith for without God the body does not exist nor does the gift of sight, sound, hearing, taste or touch. Remember that God loves us and Jesus saves and may the Holy Spirit be the driving force and the motivation to exercise faith each and every day. This week’s memory verse: Matthew (6:19-21) 19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew (6:19-21) NIV Love God, love people and live well in Christ. Love to all (Uncle Sam)
