Hebrews 11:6 (KJV) But without faith it is impossible to please him : for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. In the Great chapter of Hebrews 11 we have what Faith is Explained to us, Hebrews 11:1 (KJV) Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. This chapter of Hebrews 11 accounts of many Remarkable Examples of Ancient Faith by the Saints of Old. We read of; The Victories of Faith won by the Saints And these all, having gained a good report The Sufferings Endured by Faith by Christs anointed people, Hebrews 11:36 (KJV) And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment We as Christians are Exhorted to Follow These Glorious Examples of faith and who better to look for encouragement than our Righteous brothers and sisters in Christ mentioned here. What an honour to be singled out and commended for their Faith and trust in God, believing that He would fulfil his Word and Promise even if they did not live to see it. Hebrews 11:7 (KJV) By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith. By faith Noah. We as Believers should strive to follow this pattern By Faith Through faith we can conquer and prevail. God seeks us to pray without ceasing and to fully trust in Him to provide our every need. We should apply this in our own lives trusting The Lord to guide us in different aspects of our lives whether it be what he would have us to do, where he will send us, what partner he will provide for us. We must trust in The Lord for our every need and take it to him In prayer fully believing and expecting him to answer. We must pray to God to help us have Faith as strong and stedfast as the Saints commended in His Word. When Noah was divinely warned of a coming deluge he believed it, simply upon the word of God. Is this not good enough reason to act? By Believing and trusting Gods promises contained in his living Word? Now observe how Noahs faith acted. (1) He was moved by fear; (2) he prepared the ark as God had directed. His faith moved him to obedience. Genesis 6:22 (KJV) Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he. We read that Noahs belief and obedience Condemned the world. The example of his faith was a rebuke to all who were not moved by it. The man who gives heed to God by his conduct condemns those who refuse to heed him. Noah Became heir. It was by the obedience of faith (Rom 1:5) that he became an heir of the blessings promised to those who are counted righteous through faith. Romans 1:17 (KJV) For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. We should rejoice and observe that all these acts of faith and believers were gloriously rewarded for their trials and sacrifices, Hebrews 11:25-26 (KJV) Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; [26] Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward. The Saints and Patriarchs mentioned did not desire the riches and pleasures of the world. Rather their desires and eyes were fixed towards eternal glory and dwelling with our Heavenly Father. Hebrews 11:16 (KJV) But now they desire a better country , that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city. The Lord has prepared for us a place of rest and safety that when we depart from this world we shall inherit and dwell in the House of The Lord forever where there is no sorrow nor tears. Christian our eyes should be fixed steadfastly towards our Lord Jesus in heaven in our pilgrimage through this life. By Faith, believing that our Lord Jesus died for our sins and shed his precious blood to cleanse our iniquities and trusting in him and confessing our sinfulness, we will see Him face to face and dwell in everlasting paradise with our Saviour. For those who are yet out of Christ you too can gain salvation by faith. Romans 10:9 (KJV) That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Follow the example of the Philippian Jailer who so convicted of his sin and guilt asked, Acts 16:30-31 (KJV) And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? [31] And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. Charles Spurgeon; A little faith will bring your soul to heaven; a great faith will bring heaven to your soul.
