Hebrews 12:14 Make every effort to live in peace with all men and pursue holiness, without which no one shall see the Lord. Make EVERY effort to live in PEACE with ALL men, 1. MAKE EVERY EFFORT: God sees your efforts as much as sometimes they dont produce results. We cant please all, and its okay. As long as youve made every effort to--God sees your heart. But this means that you have to make every effort. That even when youve been hurt time and time again, you need to continue to show grace as He has shown you grace. 2. ALL MEN: we have an inclusive God who desires all man to be saved and so we should not be people who exclude ourselves merely to our type of people or certain people groups. We need to learn to love as Christ loves, for He loved us first, while we were sinners. And so if people still sin against you, and repeatedly hurt you purposefully--learn to love them. And PURSUE HOLINESS, without which no one shall SEE THE LORD. 3. PURSUE HOLINESS: I love this. The fact that we have been called, not merely to love all unconditionally, but to also be set apart. Be different. Because to be salt and light--we are made to make an impact, and be holy because Christ is holy. 4. SEE THE LORD: this is the one thing that Ive always desired. The one thing that has kept me in my walk with God--to always pursue Him and seek His face daily. And most times what it takes to get another glimpse of His beauty is to go behind closed doors and set yourself apart from people to approach His throne by yourself. I love the fact that as much as this verse seems very straight forward on a surface level, it holds so much Biblical truths in it--in a sense that as much as we Christians are meant to love all and be inclusive to all, not judging people because Christ Himself does not condemn us--it also tells us to always remember that loving people will amount to nothing if we dont pursue Christ and His Kingdom, His holiness, His righteousness always. Remember why you do what you do--and that is all for the glory of Jesus, the One True King. This is for Kevin Odisho and Cynthia De Vera Djojosaputro who nominated me to share my favourite verse--which isnt actually fair to the whole Bible cause the Word of God is amazing no matter what! But Id have to say one of the verses that Ive always held so dear and made into a basic principle in my life is this verse up here. Other than that...the whole Book of Hebrews is amazing. My fav Book of the Bible of all time. The Gospels are beautiful. Psalm 139 is also crazy, and Numbers 6:24-26. And of course the famous 1 Timothy 4:12! 412! Hehe. But yeah I would love to hear what your favourite verse in the Bible is, and why :) what a great way to spread the Gospel through the social media.
